Markfed launches Litchi Honey, Litchi Jam, MarkPik & MarkPhenyl

Chd 6th Sept, 2022:  Earlier today, Punjab Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Bhagwant Mann asked Markfed to provide its world-class products at affordable prices to people for stabilizing their budgets and saving them from the scourge of ever-increasing inflation.

The Chief Minister, while launching Litchi Honey, Litchi Jam, MarkPik and MarkPhenyl (sanitary products) produced by MARKFED asserted that focus must be laid on providing the products at economical rates to people so as to give relief to them from the vicious circle of rising prices.

Further, the Hon’ble Chief Minister exhorted the farmers to adopt horticulture, bee-keeping and other agriculture-allied activities to supplement their income.

Citing examples, the Chief Minister said that Sohna Litchi Honey has been procured from within the state and has been got tested from Punjab Biotechnology Incubator lab as per FSSAI standards and from Bruker lab, Germany, for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) profiling. He further stated that Litchi honey is free from any sugar and contains pollens derived from Litchi Fruit adding that the Sohna Blossom Litchi Honey is processed in Markfed Honey Plant at Jalandhar and after degumming and dewaxing the honey, the filtered honey is packed in attractive packs for consumers. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that Litchi Jam has been prepared after processing the Litchi variety prominently grown in the Pathankot region of Punjab (also known as Dehradooni variety).

The Chief Minister said that with its distinct taste, the litchi jam is expected to be an instant hit in the domestic and international markets. He said that the raw material for these products has been procured from the farmers of the state only adding that with assured marketing by cooperatives like Markfed, the farmers can change their fortunes by adopting horticulture and allied activities. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is making massive endeavors to promote agriculture allied activities amongst the farmers.

Meanwhile, Special Chief Secretary (Cooperation) Ravneet Kaur said that these products will be available at all the leading retailers, Markfed Bazaars and at sale centers/ outlets of Markfed.

On the occasion, Special Chief Secretary (Cooperation) Ravneet Kaur, Additional Chief Secretary to CM A Venuprasad, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab Nilkanth S Avhad, Managing Director, Markfed Ramvir, IAS, Additional Managing Director, Markfed Rahul Gupta, Chief Manager (Marketing), Markfed Rakesh Kumar Popli and others were also present.

Vaccination Drive by Markfed for its Employees – 4th June 2021

Chandigarh 4th June, 2021:  To safeguard the well-being of its employees from Covid -19 Pandemic, Markfed conducted a vaccination drive for its employees and ex-employees and their families at its Head Office, Chandigarh today.

            Sh. Varun Roojam, IAS M.D Markfed stated that Employees are our most important assets and with an aim to protect the employees and support them during these challenging times,  Markfed has initiated this vaccination drive. He further added that a team of doctors i.e. Dr. Adarsh Pal Kaur, Civil Surgeon Mohali, Dr. Vijay Bhagat, Dr, H.S Cheema, SMO and Dr. Taranjot Kaur from District Hospital, Mohali was deputed for covid-19 vaccination.  The team of doctors advised the employees how to protect oneself from corona virus. A Total of  300 employees were  vaccinated.

Dr. Damandeep Kaur, PCS CM(P) Markfed was also present during the vaccination drive.

Markfed releases Calendar for the year 2021 13th January, 2021 Chandigarh

S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation and Jails, released Markfed’s Calendar for the year 2021 today. Present on the occasion were Sh. K. Siva Prasad, IAS, Principal Secy. Coop, Sh. Vikas Garg, IAS, RCS, Punjab and. Sh. Varun Roojam IAS, Managing Director, Markfed. The Calendar is dedicated to 400th birth anniversary of Sh. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and also portray the historic gurudwara of Sh. Rakab Ganj Sahib Ji. On the occasion, Sh. Randhawa appreciated the efforts of Markfed for playing a pivotal role in the growth of Punjab’s economy and for marketing the quality products under ‘SOHNA’ brand.

Markfed distributed Cash prizes to winners of ‘Har Tyoahar Markfed Sohna ke Saath scheme’ on Women’s Day.

Chandigarh 8th March, 2021 : Saluting the spirit of women on women’s day, Markfed today organised a prize distribution function for the winners of the contest ‘Har Tyohar Markfed Sohna Ke Saath’ . Ms. Amrit Singh IAS, AMD (G), Markfed handed over the cheque of Rs. 9900/- as a cash prize to the first winner i.e. Ms. Jyoti Chawla of Panchkula. The contest was initiated through 94.3 MY FM in which the participant had to use any Markfed product to cook their favourite dish and post a selfie along with complete recipe on Facebook Page. Top three winners were awarded with Cash prizes. Ms. Jyoti Chawla, a resident of Panchkula, won the first prize of ₹9,900, the second prize was won by Ms. Neha Malhotra of Jalandhar for Rs. 7,900 and the third prize was won by Mr. Ashu Soni for Rs. ₹5,900. Besides cash prizes, 7 lucky winners were also awarded discount Coupons worth Rs.1000/- each.
